I figured to get back onto the LP horse, it would be fun to do an old favorite with something different about it. I was thinking Mega Man X would be a good game to revisit, but I did beat the game with the bare minimum parts (Legs, Arms) before as a stream. So what could I do next with it? Well, playing a modified version of the game that increases the difficulty of course! There are two versions to discuss, this is the easier of the two. Basically, it's the original game but there are some changes to the enemies, bosses and Mega Man X himself. Here's the list of the changes below: - AI changes: Regular enemies, bosses and minibosses have had their AI enhanced, making them more responsive and faster, among other things. - Enemy stat rebalances: Enemies have had their HP rebalanced and they usually deal more damage. - Player stat rebalances: Ammo has been reduced, and each of the weapon's costs have been rebalanced. Damage done by weapons have been rebalanced as well (The Hadouken isn't a 1-shot anymore), both against regular enemies and bosses. Some weapons had their speed rebalanced. The body upgrade has been nerfed to 25% damage reduction. - Infinite lives. - Dialogue changes. - Death counter in the pause screen. - Each of the bosses can now be rebattled. - Each of the Maverick stages can be exited without having beaten it first. - Hadouken capsule only requires 1 visit. Doesn't require all stages beaten. - Custom Title. - Other rebalances and small additions. While I really wish there WASN'T infinite lives, this does a great job increasing the difficulty and changing things up. You have to play the game with a new mindset, focusing less on charging through the stages and more on how to get through the sections alive. Life Energy is important now and you have to make sure you either take out the enemies or know how to get around them safely. The enemies also take more damage, but it's a reasonable boost from before. Enjoy the video, leave any comments if you like!
