His music was a blend of country, rock, and blues, and some of his best-known songs are "Guitar Man," "Amos Moses," and "When You're Hot, You're Hot." Reed was born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1937. He began his career in the 1950s and recorded his first album, "A Thing Called Love," in 1962. He went on to record more than 30 albums and write or co-write more than 100 songs. Reed was known for his unique guitar playing style, which was a mix of country, rock, and blues. He often used a slide guitar and was known for his intricate fingerpicking. Reed's music was popular on the country charts and his concerts were always a sellout. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009.
