The Christmas Island Pipistrelle Bat that went extinct on 26th August 2009, only 15 years ago. This was a bat species found nowhere else in the world that went from common to extinct in 15 years. There are lots of important lessons to learn from this extinction that can help us protect other species, but we can only do that if we first remember the pipistrelle.
