Let's Play #18: Disaster Day of Crisis (Wii)

18 videos • 575 views • by theenglishman Disaster: Day of Crisis is an action-adventure game released in 2008, exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. It was developed by Monolith Soft as the first title in a Nintendo-exclusivity deal that resulted in the next phase of their Xenosaga series of JRPGs, Xenoblade. Don't expect this to be like any of those games though - or really, anything else you've seen. Day of Crisis is a glorious, cheesy homage to the Hollywood disaster-movie revival of the 90s, with every cliché you could possibly imagine thrown into a big blender, powered by the beauty of motion controls. You can see every plot twist coming a mile away, you can guess every step our heroes and villains will make. But who cares? It's all in good fun, and it is very, very fun. There's gunplay, action, exploration, big setpieces, driving, familiar voice actors, and even some very...peculiar weapons. I'd rather not spoil the surprise.
