Compressor Interview Question & Answer-2019

171 videos • 2,101 views • by tech mecha An air compressor is a device that converts power (using an electric motor, diesel or gasoline engine, etc.) into potential energy stored in pressurized air (i.e., compressed air). By one of several methods, an air compressor forces more and more air into a storage tank, increasing the pressure. When tank pressure reaches its engineered upper limit, the air compressor shuts off. The compressed air, then, is held in the tank until called into use. In these video we discussed about top 6 compressor interview question which is very important for sessional lab, viva, board question & job question. After watching this video, hope clear understanding about compressor topics. Watching video till ends to learn about mechanical machine like compressor. Here we details the question with answer what are discuss invideo: Question Number: 1 Difference between axial compressor, reciprocating compressor and rotary compressor? Answer: AXIAL COMPRESSOR – A multistage, high efficiency compressor comprising alternate rows of moving and fixed blades attached to a rotor and its casing respectively. The flow of fluid is essentially parallel to the axis of the compressor. RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR – A compressor having a piston which is made to move to and fro, that is forward and backward and thereby compresses and delivers air. ROTARY COMPRESSOR – A compressor having a vane rotor or its equivalent mounted eccentrically in a stationary casing. Question Number: 2 Differences between absolute humidity and absolute pressure? Answer: ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY – Actual quantity of water vapor in the air, usually expressed as so many grains of moisture in a cubic foot of air. ABSOLUTE PRESSURE – Pressure measured from the true zero or point of no pressure. Question Number: 3 what is the function of air compressor and anemometer? Answer: AIR COMPRESSOR – A machine (driven by any prime mover), which compresses air into a receiver to be used at a greater or shorter distance. ANEMOMETER – An instrument for measuring the velocity of flow of a gas, either by mechanical or electrical methods. Question Number: 4 Differences between clearance volume effect & mean effective pressure? Answer: CLEARANCE VOLUME EFFECT – Volumetric efficiency of the reciprocating compressor depends upon the clearance volume in the air cylinder. The greater the clearance volume the greater the volume of the cylinder occupied by the clearance air which expands and prevents the entrance of free air during the early part of the admission stroke. MEAN EFFECTIVE PRESSURE – The average resultant pressure acting on the piston during the stroke that is the effective pressure which compresses and discharges the air. This is the difference between the mean forward pressure and the mean back pressure.
