14 videos • 970 views • by Ukulollo A couple of years ago I happened to listen to an 80s remix of "Somebody that I used to know" by Gotye. I suddenly experienced a weird feeling of nostalgia for my childhood. Although that song was from 2012 that arrangement had taken me somehow way more back in time. I realized that, using the right sounds, it was possible to open a remote box in the heart where feelings and sensations are still strong and pure. Then, once the box is open I could bring those feelings back to life with new original music. That was an incredibly exciting discovery. As a Ukulele player, I often compose in the style of 80s New Wave or Electropop but then I use to filter my songs through the ukulele and other acoustic instruments. This process gave me the sound I'm known for in the ukulele world. After listening to that remix of "Somebody I Used To Know", though, I decided to try to make my songs sound like they do in my head when I write 'em. That is how the journey began
