Led by Ernst Jansz (vocals, keyboards) and Henny Vrienten (vocals, bass), with Jan Hendriks (guitar) and various drummers, they became one of the Netherlands’ most successful bands. Their breakthrough came with the 1982 album Doris Day en andere stukken, featuring hits like “Doris Day” and “De Bom.” Known for their catchy melodies and socially conscious lyrics, they sparked “Doe Maar-mania” among young fans, especially teenage girls. The band split in 1984 due to overwhelming fame but reunited in 2000, releasing Klaar and performing sporadically until Vrienten’s death in 2022. With five studio albums and a lasting cultural impact, Doe Maar remains a defining force in Dutch music history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doe_Maar http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOB58...
