84 videos • 3,242 views • by AnotherProf From January 1st to December 31st, this journey through 1983’s memorable song hits and best-selling ‘pop’ 45s features the original hit versions, arranged in general chronological order of popularity (the earlier titles had been released in late 1982). The record label scans are displayed for reference, and the majority of tracks that you hear were transferred directly from the 45 singles, though a few of the titles have come from digital sources. Videos in this playlist were created and posted to YouTube by yours truly, with the exception of any which do not include “1983 HITS ARCHIVE” in the video’s name. Because my own attempted uploads of those particular titles are currently blocked from view in the U.S. due to copyright claims, I have substituted other existing unblocked YouTube posts of those tracks (not all of which may be the actual hit 45 single versions). Daily postings on the AnotherProf channel of additional 1983 titles will continue for the next several weeks with the larger 1983 HITS ARCHIVE playlists scheduled for completion by late December.
