87 videos • 42,414 views • by AnotherProf From January 1st to December 31st, this journey through 1981’s memorable song hits and best-selling ‘pop’ 45s features the original hit versions, arranged in general chronological order of popularity (the earlier titles had been released in late 1980). The record label scans are displayed for reference, and the majority of tracks that you hear were transferred directly from the 45 singles, though some of the audio may come from other sources. Videos in this playlist were created and posted to YouTube by yours truly, with the exception of any which do not include “1981 HITS ARCHIVE” in the video’s name. Because my own attempted uploads of those particular titles are currently blocked from view in the U.S. due to copyright claims, I have substituted other existing unblocked YouTube posts of those tracks (not all of which may be the actual hit 45 single versions).
