Hamlet Adaptations 2015

4 videos • 270 views • by Stanbridge Academy During quarter one Allison St. John's sophomore and senior English classes studied Hamlet by William Shakespeare. In order to learn more about the adaptation process to transform a script to a staged production, students first watched a film version of Hamlet and a live performance by the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. Students then worked collaboratively to adapt Hamlet by setting it in different locations and time periods and using Google Docs to write a script together. Students brought in their own costumes and used the Stanbridge campus and green screen technology to set their movie. The result is 4 distinct interpretations of Hamlet unique to each class. The students will take part in a high school screening of the movies and a Q&A with students (TBD in January).
