The 12 bar blues is used is almost every genre of music (including, naturally, blues and jazz). But after playing the standard 12 bar blues for a while it may start to get a little stale. And so, over the year, various musicians have come up with numerous variations, modification or changes to the standard 12 bar blues to make it more interesting. The changes vary from the simple to the complex and jazzy. In this series I take you through a whole bunch of different variations on the 12 bar blues which you can use to jazz up your simple chord progression. I start with the simplest of variations and end with some super complex jazzy variations. Hope you find these useful and interesting.
