Basic Music Theory

So I decided to make a series of lessons on how to play the blues and jazz which would freely available on YouTube. I also found that a lot of videos were quite basic, so I wanted these lessons to cover the basics but then go on to explain some more interesting, advanced and complex topics and ideas you can use in Jazz and Blues. But I soon realised that in order to create these lessons, I had to cover the underlying music theory that is used in Blues and Jazz. As such, I created these lessons which are intended to cover everything you need to know to be able to understand, play and improvise over the blues and jazz. If you understand everything in these lessons you’ll comfortably understand blues and jazz and be able to play and improvise competently. In these lessons I cover: - Scales - Modes - Chords - Keys (combining chords and scales to make keys) - Harmony - Swing vs Straight Rhythm Hope you enjoy them.
