6 videos • 1,339 views • by SEF Official Scheme of Studies (SOS) Video Tutorials Among the recent initiatives, development of Scheme of Studies (SOS) is a one of the major initiatives of the Sindh Education Foundation for providing single exact Academic Plan to all SEF Assisted Schools in the Sindh Province. The scheme of study is usually an interpretation of a specification or syllabus and can be used as a guide or road map in school throughout the academic year for monitoring progress of teaching and learning. It also helps in strengthening the role of schools’ heads and teachers for tracking their students’ progress time to time as their acquired knowledge, competencies and skills aligned with covered syllabus throughout the specific academic year. Besides all these, SOS document enables schools’ heads and teachers to break one-way teaching patterns and enables them to provide systematically students centered learning opportunities at classroom level. Scheme of studies(SOS) is a guideline for SEF schools that defines the structure, content, pedagogy, times and dates of an academic course. It maps out clearly how resources (books, equipment, time), classroom activities (teacher-talk, group work, practical, discussions) and assessment strategies (tests, quizzes, Q&A, homework) will be used to ensure that the learning aims and objectives of the syllabus are met systematically and successfully. Before implementation of this SOS at School level, it is very necessary for schools’ heads and teachers to understand and have clarity of each component of this document through these video tutorials.
