I started compiling these videos in early 2020 prior to the Coronavirus turning the world upside down. I was in the process of re-mastering and re-looking through all of my old footage from the First Renaissance of CFI in order to ease myself back into editing my latest 100 Challenge Videos (a rather stressful process for me!), and it occurred to me that I had released a lot of piano covers separately that would fit together nicely as larger medleys! I also had been wanting to get back into creating and filming more piano cover arrangements for a few years now, and while I do own a Baby Grand Piano it is just way too loud for my current camcorder to handle (as my test footage can attest to!)! I thus began thinking about getting both a new camcorder (with an EXTERNAL MICROPHONE!) and a new keyboard (DIGITAL WITH WEIGHTED KEYS!) but since these things are rather pricey I've been hesitant to do so! I then set out to make some more moolah, and I figured that I could do this by re-releasing a lot of my older covers as longer videos to take advantage of how YT now monetizes more for length/watch time instead of views and wa-la; An Evening With Chase Floyd & The Grand Piano was born!
