He grew up the son of two hard working Mexican immigrant parents in one of the roughest parts called Oak Cliff. Back then it consisted of mostly low to no income families and Luni’s neighborhood was very poor and full of crime. It wasn’t long before he got involved in the same illegal things that his friends were involved in and trouble ensued. In and out of correctional facilities was starting to become a norm for Luni until he realized he had an untapped talent in rap. He switched gears from living that crime life to living that rhyme life. Early in his career, Luni Mofo teamed up with a local artist IseReal. They released mixtapes for the Dallas NBA All Star game called “The All Star Mixtape,” the Dallas Superbowl called “Jerry Jones Money,” and a mixtape called the “First 48 mixtape.” After learning the ropes, Luni decided to go solo and started his own label, TAKE $$$. He released 3 mixtapes: “Freedom Ain't Free,” “Freedom of Speech,” and “Root of Evil" along with his first all original beat, solo mixtape called "Son Of A Bitch." After that he linked up with another upcoming, local crew, the Immortal Soldierz and started the weekly podcast "Take $$$ Tuesdays." Other artists that he has had the pleasure of working with include Dorrough Music, Mr. Pookie, Mr. Lucci, Kotton Mouth, Young Black, Doughski G, Paul Wall, Chalie Boy, Quint Black, T Cash, Six Two, Renizance, Scotty Boy, the Immortal Soldierz, 2Kold Syndicate, Tum Tum, Fat B. and Lil Flip.
