YouTube shorts are different, made in vertical format or 1080x1920 resolution. And they can be up to 60 seconds only, not a second more. YouTube shorts can help any channel looking to grow its subscribers count. There are advantages and disadvantages to using or creating YouTube shorts for your channel: • A YouTube short can be anything between one second to 60 seconds. • Video can get many views, and maybe no views too. • The views do get counted as a statistic with YouTube analytics. • Any subscribers gained from a YouTube short can be kept for life until they unsubscribed • View the YouTube short on the YouTube shelf; the watch time is part of the analytics. • But, if the YouTube short is viewed on the YouTube shelf, the watch-time doesn't get counted. I created my YouTube shorts using the apps on my computer. The first was with Keynote from Apple, and then I tried an online tool called Canva. Keynote is relatively easy to use, a presentation software application (think Powerpoint!), but Canva allowed me to create a video within seconds quickly too. Once you are done creating the video, make sure the video is less than seconds. And they can be up to 60 seconds only, not a second more. If your video is 0:00:60:01, the time will round up the footage to 61-seconds, and the video will not be considered a YouTube short. Aim for 59-seconds or less. Once you have a final video that is vertical and less than 60 seconds, upload it to YouTube from your computer and use the hashtag #short in the description and title.
