In his spare time Discourse has had the opportunity to film & edit numerous hip hop music videos for many of your favourites including Mata & Must, Bias B, Geko aka Phil Gektor and more. Over the years i have had the privilege of being involved in the filming & editing of many music videos, DVDs & promos. Here is a selection from the last 5 years.- Discourse 01. Phil & Flu - Notes from the Underground Pt. 2 First off we have the latest Cartel offering from Phil Gektor & Flu. The "Classic" literature inspired EP has them donning masks and doing what they do best. Classics will be available on Vinyl, CD & Cassette in December 2014. 02. Mata & Must - School for Fools Earlier this year I sat down with long time friends Mata & Must to collaborate on the visuals for their second LP "Get Your Mind Right". After some serious script writing, days of filming and weeks of editing, "School for Fools" emerged as one of my favourite clips to date. 03. Geko- The Rules "Real Heads Don't Listen" was a serious undertaking visually across multiple mediums. A strong collaboration between Phil and myself took "The Rules", which was meant to be a simple undertaking transformed to an adventure down the rabbit hole. 04. Flu AKA Fluent Form - Every Step The clip that started it all. "Every Step" was my debut in the world of music videos. At the time Flu and I were living together and working on "The Furnace" and came to the conclusion that we needed a film clip. "Every Step" was the result. 05. Goatmob- Space Trip Oddity When you throw Phil Gektor in the drivers seat of an un-roadworthy Ford Laser, only madness is bound to follow. Heata had to get Mr D's Cola up in there too, rep those Shepparton roots… 06. Tornts Hg - Traumatic Cinema With such a serious script laid out in front of us in the lyrics, Heata, Josh and myself set out to make this tale of domestic disturbance one to remember. A monster of a beat from my CC cohort WIK as well. 07. Mata, Must, Flu & 1/6- Dead Man's Hand The second clip from "The Four Aces EP" a collaboration between Crate Cartel & Pang Productions. This track also happened to be Flu's production debut. Check out "Raise the Devil" if you're into this one. 08. Bias B ft. Joyride- Midlife I had the pleasure of working on Bias B's last album both on the production for "Rap Life feat. Maundz" as well as this clip. Executed with Heata, it is a heartfelt journey into the long career of the man himself. 09. Animal Kingdom ft. Dontez- Trem I received a phone call from Heata at 9:30am on Christmas day 2011, Animal Kingdom had placed at number two in the Rage top 50 clips of the year. Only to be topped by Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know". Heath, Josh & myself were stoked. 10. Maundz- Rappertag (25) Last but not least on the list is one of the three "rappertag" videos i took part in filming. Flu & myself used to live in this derelict house in Jordanville, needless to say it probably shaved years off our life. Maundz came in, dissed our house and made a mess in the kitchen… Check out Bunk's double up Rappertag if you wanna have a laugh.
