10 videos • 396 views • by ObeseRecords Welcome to another Friday Fatlist! To celebrate the release of Thundamentals new album So We Can Remember, the very dope Jeswon has put together a list of tracks he's digging at the minute. Jes has provided us with a track-by-track commentary for each of his selections, so have a read and enjoy the toons! Isaiah Rashad - I Shot You Down This beat is on some super smooth shit. That sample though! Rashad kills the verse and when the hook drops its game over. CyHi The Prynce - Napoleon CyHi goin in. No need for a hook on this one. Some razor sharp bars over a tidy beat is all you need sometimes. Diggin the reverse kkk visuals goin down in this clip too. FTP Audio Push - Shine The hook on this has been stuck in my head for a long minute now. Everything about this track sounds good to me. The clip is wicked too. Big Perm!! Capital STEEZ - Free The Robots (Official Video) It is a real shame to have lost Capital Steez way to soon. I bumped his amerikkan korruption release hard. A deep thinker who's knowledge and awareness belied his years. R.I.P STEEZ Joey Bada$$ "My Yout" Music Video Staying in the Pro Era camp, Joey Bada$$ is a beast and you know this. Diggin the skanks on the beat and the island vibe on the chorus and visuals. Bonus points for celebratory use of air horn. A$AP Mob feat. A$AP Nast & Method Man - Trillmatic (Explicit) This track is all about Meth Man for me. His verse is a flawless example of how this rap caper should sound. Impeccable rhythm, patterns and style. Love how he even takes a snide swipe at Nast's hook saying, 'Fuck Swag!'. James Blake Feat. Chance The Rapper "Life Round Here" James Blake's voice is crazy smooth and i'm pretty sure he produces most of his beats, this one included. All in all a talented dude. I saw an interview where Blake says that he never felt like this track was complete until Chance jumped on board and i get what he is saying when you compare this version to the original. Bullshit good track imo. The Underachievers - Gold Soul Theory ( Offical Music Video ) I dig these dudes. I can see them floating on a kush cloud hangin with some egyptian gods like Horace and Osiris smokin a blunt. Young lords. Homeboy Sandman - Not Really Really loving the humility and honesty in Homeboy's lyrics. It's funny the difference between public perception and the reality of being an artist sometimes. People think because they see you on stage or in video clips on the net that you are ballin' out of control. This track addresses some of those misconceptions. Mad chilled music to vibe out to. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Thuggin' (Official) - Piñata Mad Gibbs. What a combo! Had this track on repeat for a minute. One of the most thuggish clips in recent memory too. SALUTE
