ZDS brings up-to-date original Reggae which continues the line of deep roots in the golden age of Jamaican Reggae (70's and early 80's). Similar to other contemporary Roots bands, ZDS's music is deeply influenced by Funk, Jazz, and Rock alongside Middle Eastern Jewish and Ethiopian music. The band's sound is flavored by effects and heavy emphasis on the drums and the bass that create the deep experience of Jamaican Dub tradition. Since first going on the stage in the summer of 2006, the band enjoys great success among Reggae fans all around Israel. Besides our vocalist, the band includes 7 of the top musicians in Tel-Aviv reggae / groove scene who play: Drums, bass, lead and rhythm guitars, keyboards / melodica, saxophone and trumpet. Live on stage, ZDS uses an effect system that was built especially to create dub versions with special effects and mixes. These days, the band is working on its first album that will include original material and cooperation with well-known Reggae artists, among them, the great Ranking Joe. Except playing original music, ZDS is also working as a backing band for international reggae artist, such as Apple Gabriel from Israel Vibration and UK deejay Brother Culture "It plays excellently, the audience dances happily.
