My Vlog

1 videos • 4 views • by John Malcolm I was brought up in Dundee on the East coast of Scotland and as a teenager during the sixties was a fan of the pop music of the time, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks, The Who, Motown. Then I heard Bob Dylan and other American folk singers and songwriters Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs who remain my main influences. During the seventies I performed in bars, pubs and clubs around the Dundee area and moved south west to Lanarkshire in 1980 where I got involved in the folk club scene and more traditional music. I have written many of my own songs featured on my albums "Bridges" and "Sands of Time". I believe songs should have meaningful lyrics. I love the guitar in all its forms.
