Nick Moss Band with Dennis Gruenling Live @ The Rhythm Room
12 videos • 157 views • by DanielMcKernan The Nick Moss Band with Dennis Gruenling rocked the house last May 16th at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix Arizona! Nick was just awarded the Traditional Male Blues Artist of the Year 2019 and Dennis was awarded the Blues Instrumental - Harmonica award 2019. The guys put on quite a show at the legendary club. They started at 8:00, played until 9:30, took a break, and then came back out and played until about 11:15. The musicianship was just incredible, they played all types of blues (Chicago style, Jump, Slow, Swing, Boogie, etc) Dennis Gruenling played both diatonic and chromatic harmonicas with a charismatic style that draws the audience in. Taylor Streiff scorches the keyboards and performs vocals on a song when Nick was taking a break. Rodrigo Mantavani played both upright bass and electric bass and added some of his own smooth background vocals in there too. Patrick Seals just quietly keeps everything in time and tempo back there on the drums. Nick Moss is a phenomenal blues guitarist, singer/songwriter, and band leader that honors the traditional blues artists of the past while staying contemporary with the modern day blues audience. I apologize for any video shakiness/focus issues. I was not using a tripod and the Canon XC-10 Video Recorder takes two hands to do any zoom functions. Also, sometimes it's difficult to try to keep the camera stationary when you have to maneuver around/through the crowd/dancing, etc.
