SW Border Food Protection and Emergency Preparedness Center: National Disease Preparedness and Response Vaccination Training
5 videos • 4 views • by nmsuaces These videos are unique training resources to address these capacity limitations, including "just-in-time" (JIT) modules. These JIT trainings include resources for emergency/first-responder personnel, agricultural professionals, and volunteers on how to administer, record, and trace Foreign Animal Disease (FAD) emergency vaccinations. Communications and preparedness are fundamental to the success of emergency response. Mass vaccinations against FAD events are a concern in the agricultural emergency response community; as such, there is a need to build capacity, promote preparedness, and increase easy-to-access educational resources and communication materials for volunteers, key personnel, and livestock producers. Response to animal health emergencies involves multiple stakeholders with different backgrounds and knowledge levels. As a result, development of just-in-time (JIT) trainings regarding safe practices when administering vaccines and logistics of emergency response will be critical to onboard volunteers in a timely and effective manner. JIT training will also be developed for key personnel focusing on management of teams and emergency logistics.
