International Yoga Day and World Music Day Celebrations

7 videos • 848 views • by Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills “Yoga is the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, the harmony of the soul, and the symphony of life.” International Yoga Day and World Music Day were celebrated in Delhi School of Excellence, Banjara Hills on 21st June, 2024 with a plethora of activities in a special assembly program for the students of Grades VIII to X. Students spoke about the greatness of Yoga and its transformative ability that generates the harmony of mind and body, and the balance between thought and action. Yoga story was presented in a unique way through Surya Namaskar. There was also a rhythmic Yoga dance. Yoga mudras such as Dhyana mudra, Uttara Bodhi mudra, Hakini mudra and Kubera mudra were taught to the students that enhance their brain power, increase their focus and concentration along with the technique of breathing. World Music Day is celebrated every year to encourage people to listen to a variety of songs and embrace art for future generations. There were mellifluous renditions of songs that brought to the fore the power of music that brings the world together. There were also instrumental music performances such as guitar and keyboard performances by students. Principal Ms Bharti congratulated the students for their excellence performances and the teachers for mentoring them. She spoke about how Yoga and music help students to beat stress and stay positive. The students of Pre-Primary and Grade I learnt a few basic asanas and breathing techniques.
