School of Engineering’s pioneering Structures Lab overview and testing video
5 videos • 118 views • by Lebanese American University The Structures Lab has a Reaction Wall and Strong Floor (RWSF) with an eight-meter-high ceiling, a 20-ton overhead crane, two powerful actuators with servohydraulic controllers and multiple hydraulic man-lifts. This full-scale testing facility can support research on life-size structural members and building components such as bridge girders, piers, and sheer walls. It is equipped to handle a variety of vertical and lateral loading scenarios statically or dynamically, and both uniaxial as well as twisting loads on structures. These features are unique not only in Lebanon but in the region as a whole. https://news.lau.edu.lb/2018/building... https://news.lau.edu.lb/2019/structur...
