Shanmatham: The Six Paths of Devotion

7 videos • 3,968 views • by Temple Of Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur A full length Bharatanatyam production delineating the six forms of Hindu worship: Ganapathy, Muruga, Vishnu, Shiva, Devi and Surya as expounded by the saint Adi Shankaracharya. The production first premiered in Kuala Lumpur, featured teenagers Madangopal Narayanan, Muthukumaran Paranjothy, Hemavathi Sivanesan, Mayuri Rathakrishnan, Pankhuri Agrawal, and Sakthy Segaran. This recording is of the performance in TFA Penang in February 2006. Artistic direction by Shankar Kandasamy. Choreography by Shankar Kandasamy and Vasuki Sivanesan. Selection of songs featured compositions of His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi, as well as original choreography by Suryakala. The thillana is a composition by the late Krishnaswamy Bhagavatar. The production was part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations of the Temple of Fine Arts in Malaysia.
