The UCSF Memory and Aging Center conducts both observational and interventional types of research to try to understand healthy aging and diseases of aging and to test and evaluate treatments and methods of providing care. The UCSF MAC collaborates extensively with basic scientists in a bench-to-bedside-and-back model. These collaborations help us to us to understand the molecular changes occurring and, hopefully, develop new treatments that can help cure or prevent neurodegenerative disease.
