In 2006, when the whole country was surfing a wave of happiness because of the football world cup, two guys from Hannover thought it was time to put there love for music into a monthly party series. So Derrick Montana and Kiatone, together with some friends, set up Treibgut in the small yet notable Club „Mephisto" in Hannover. Over the years the party was growing and wowing more and more people in town. There was so much fun and happiness for everybody that the guys decided to go beyond the cities borders and invite special acts from all over the nation to play at their homebase. Everyone was pleased and kept on dancing happily. As the Club Mephisto is affiliated with a cultural institution having a virtually nonrestricted door policy it was only a matter of time that people came to the party who were not quite satisfied with the „legal drugs" sold at the bar. Not only Derrick Montana and Kiatone aka „Die Filtertÿpen" and the responsible organizers disliked this development but also some guests. So they tried to find a solution to keep the crowd happy, that had in the meantime grown to about 800 guest per night. Though very contrary to the philosophy of this cultural institution they tightened their door policy to prevent the club from becoming a drug temple and tried supporting the awareness for the characteristic of an alternative cultural center. But in the meantime the situation had called the police's attention and they were not content with the solution. Instead they formed a special commision named „SoKo Treibgut" and kept surveying the site with up to 20 officers in plain clothes. For about seven months they were sneaking around, shaking down everybody who was arrousing the slightest suspicion. As you can imagine the securities at the doors felt under supervision and tightened up even more so that guests who finally made it into the club were completely bugged out. Ironically in the end the securities were so efficient that they busted a drug dealing police officer who was then taken custody by his colleagues. Everybody who made it to the party had the pleasure to attend one best events in Hannover and even the most outstanding parties of the year. We had artsy light installations as well as a huge PA with a burning sound, a truely happy crowd and some of the best Djs and producers that the scene has to offer. Unfortunately in the end the shrinking number of guests were not enough to keep the costs balanced and thus ended an era. But still, we don't want to moan and complain about our party being spoilt. Instead we want to say thank you for the wonderful time we had! With this Treibgut-Compilation we thank everyone for being a part of this awesome event. Thank you for the great times we had, thank you for the amazing music, and keep track of what your heart loves most! The record label Yippiee, the artists and „Die Filtertÿpen" are waiving the revenues of this compilation.
