Ackerman Memorial Chamber Concert was endowed by Dr. Ackerman's family as a tribute to his memory and a continuing reminder of the arts that he cherished. Beginning in 2010, the Department of Music established a competition for the purposes of identifying a particularly worthy group to receive a prize and to perform at this concert. The 2019 winners - Iva Casian-Lakoš, cello, and John Ling, a drummer, percussionist,and composer - formed the duo HEAR I SAY.
