13 videos • 149 views • by Okinawa-Te Karate Organization® In this play list we have compiled the short forms listed in the pre 1986 sho dan grading or examination papers. Each video demonstrates the short form twice at two different speeds, "Effective and Developmental". In conjunction with this you will also find there are two video's for each short form, one in frontal view and the other in side view. This is to provide you with an all round view of each short form with the aim to help assist you achieve the same high standards as demonstrated. It should be noted that this playlist only contains the pre 1986 short form versions taught prior to post 1986 short forms which are currently taught in virtually all Okinawa-Te Karate Organization dojo's today. "Pre", signifies applications taught prior to the arts evolutionary transition during the mid 1980's by Shodai Soke Gordon Alcazar Doversola aka Shihan. This "Short Form" list is limited to pre, Sword & Hammer Straight Punch Bow & Arrow Cat Fall Outward Sword Twisted Punch While there some thirty six mainstream short forms in the art that represent the primary thirty six kata of the Okinawa-Te art, it should be noted that there are a lot more short forms that are considered secondary short forms due to some primary kata being split into two, three, four and in some cases up to eight smaller kata due to their size with each section being represented by it's own short form. A good example of this would be the complete Tiger Kata which is divided into eight smaller kata sections. Thank you to Kyoshi John William Flavell aka Sensei for continuing to provide additional demonstrative material and content to this channel.
