Tenille Townes - Jersey on the Wall (I'm Just Asking) | Vevo Performance
Sometimes sad situations help create the most affecting art. A couple years ago, Tenille Townes' mom visited her daughter in Nashville and the two went for a drive. Along the way, they passed a young woman by the side of the road - homeless, in the throes of despair. As it would for many of us, the image struck the upstart country singer right in the heart. She went home and wrote “Somebody’s Daughter,” inspired by the relationship with her mom as well as the despair of the woman herself. The song struck a chord with a massive audience. The Canadian native’s entire debut EP, “Road to the Lemonade Stand,” is packed with life observations that pull at the heartstrings. See for yourself, in Townes storm cloud rendition of “Jersey on the Wall (I’m Just Asking).”
