Former Labor senator Graham Richardson has labelled Anthony Albanese “a pretty safe pair of hands”.

Mr Richardson’s remarks follow the Prime Minister’s funding announcement at an alumina processing plant in Queensland.

Mr Richardson told Sky News Australia the Prime Minister “never goes into anything without great preparation”.

“He’s not a shoot-from-the-hip man,” he said.

“He’s a deeper thinker than that, so you know you’ve got a pair of pretty safe hands.”
