The R211T is the newest car on the NYC subway. Its most notable feature is its open gangways. It is the first NYC subway rolling stock to have open gangways since the BMT D-Type Triplex, which ran from 1925 to 1965. Other impressive features of the R211T are digital signage, doors that light up when they open and close, and designated space for wheelchairs.
