in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
For anyone else viewing on PC/desktop browsers and find 3:4 videos for vertical shmups now have the right-hand part of the video obscured, a workaround is to put the video player into full-screen or theater mode; hoping YouTube fixes this soon.

I've started updating my old blog over at al82retro.blogspot.com/ - these posts will generally contain the write-ups from the video descriptions. If you care to read my musings about the games featured on this channel in a more accessible format, go check it out.

I can't get over just how brilliant the artwork in King of the Monsters is - so much detail in so few pixels! Just amazing stuff!

I've created a dedicated playlist for Gaelco arcade longplays - the Spanish developer/publisher created some surprisingly fun and, frankly, downright weird coin-op games. Be sure to check them out: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...

A commenter on my Soccer Kid Amiga CD32 longplay observed there were some additional game over/animated sequences I'd missed from my original video. I've uploaded a new version of the video as an 'Extended Cut' with the additional endings, available here: https://youtu.be/VU3d410jwng

My channel is dedicated to helping preserve the history of classic video games through the form of longplays. A longplay can be considered the opposite of a speed-run, and is designed to:
- Showcase gameplay principles and mechanics in detail
- Explore majority of levels and secrets where possible (level skips are generally avoided)
- Show game ending/multiple endings where possible
Videos are captured using a lossless codec, then upscaled (typically 8x) and transcoded to H.264 for upload to YouTube. Some videos retain 1:1 pixel mapping, while others are converted to 4:3 aspect ratio; I'll choose whichever format looks best for the game in question.
Cheats are never used as part of recording (unless a game simply cannot be completed without them), but the vast majority of videos are recorded using save states, tools, or some other workflow methodology to assist in the capture process. Online guides and FAQs are often used, and I'll create homemade maps if no such resources exist.
