I am Shani. I have been in the culinary industry for about 14 years. I am a chef, restaurateur, and graduate of commercial cookery and hospitality management, living in Australia. In my work, I am always lucky to try and learn about multicultural food. Having lived in different countries and societies has pushed me to create and experiment with new dishes constantly. But every day I prepare traditional Sri Lankan meals for my family, and I believe I have been greatly influenced by my mother and inherited that talent from her. I am an adventurous cook, a menu daydreamer, and a reader of cooking books. I make a lot of comfort food for my family because I love homestyle cooking. I love to think about, write about, share, and eat food. My true passion, however, is helping others discover their love of cooking.
