Moving abroad was always a dream of mine that came true. I knew that experiencing a different culture would bring me the enrichment, however, I didn’t expect I will start to look at my work as a psychotherapist differently.
I moved to Berlin in 2015, a hub where around 190 nationalities live together. Demand on English-speaking therapists is high.
Clients from all around the globe started to come to my office. I noticed that the roles, dynamics in relationships, what we perceive as hurtful and successful was different compared to my culture. I was intrigued, I approached it with childlike curiosity.
I started to wonder how it is like to be a therapist in the countries my clients are coming from? And this is a starting point where my project “Psychotherapist around the Globe” and interviews with therapists begin.
I am asking the same 8 questions to each therapist, and I cannot wait to hear their answer.
