The International Longshoremenās Association (ILA) is the largest union of maritime workers in North America, representing 70,000 men and women longshore workers on the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, Great Lakes, major U.S. rivers, Puerto Rico, Eastern Canada, and the Bahamas.
The South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District, ILA (SAGCD), represents the longshore workers in ports from North Carolina to Texas. Together, SAGCD, with the Atlantic Coast District, ILA (ACD), compose the ILA today.
