Study of wolf - flock - guardian dog interaction to improve flock protection dogs and systems
By studying the relationships between wolves, flocks and guardian dogs, IPRA and his CanOvis project aims, in pastoral areas subject to significant predation pressure, are to define better depredatory wolvesâ behaviour, the protection capability of so-called âguardianâ dogs (LGDs) and the vulnerability factors at pastoral unit (PU) level.
Objective: optimising flockprotection systems, specifically by making LGDs more efficient through the adjustment of prevention strategies and methods for taking action against depredatory wolves.
