Dear Awesome folk,
I keep seeing the same question in my inbox and dodging it.
"Why no new YouTube videos?"
Honestly, I only dodge the question because sometimes it's embarrassing to admit that you don't have a good explanation.
Mentally, I was drained and overwhelmed with how much work goes into being a creative YouTuber and making a unique and exciting "brand" for yourself. To entertain and educate simultaneously. I tip my hat to people like Guy and Scott, truly.
I also found it stressful and confusing when it came time to deal with sponsors and advertising.
I've declined offers from big brands like "World of Tanks" or "Nord VPN" because I feared it would harm a viewer's opinion of me. I feared I would say something like, "I love World of Tanks," yet I never played a single minute.
I know that is extreme, but it's how I felt for whatever reason and what caused me to freeze up production.
Lastly, I am a painter first and a YouTuber second. I found myself with less and less time to practice and improve my painting. I want to win a golden demon one day, and I have a long way to go before that becomes a reality.
This post was a long-winded and unnecessary explanation, but I wanted to avoid dodging the question.
Am I done with YouTube? Absolutely not. I love pairing Space Marines with dark synthesizer music too much to walk away. I'm only two years into this hobby and just getting warmed up.
In the meantime, I've started to create tutorials for mini painting on my Patreon. I like to make longer, booklet-type guides that keep things simple yet detailed. It's been so fulfilling to continue to help others with their painting, and the reception has left me speechless. So far there are booklets for blending, highlighting, black armor, NMM, faces, and airbrushing.
Anyways, TLDR: YouTube scary. Me dumb. Patreon feel good. Future videos? Yes yes.

Hey guys, Im alive! I managed to get nurgles blessing again and was sick for a couple of weeks but im finally feeling myself and eager to make some new videos. ATTN: For the painters among you, while feeling like an absolute dumpster fire, I decided to create my first "booklet" or guide. I wanted to teach a lesson that anyone could understand, whether they are brand new or veterans to mini painting. The guide is centered around how to create smooth blends and is 21 pages long. If you are interested, you can find it on my Patreon. Hope you guys have an awesome week! -Mav

On the recent Plastic Surgery episode I painted a terminator chaplain for a father to gift to his son. As a little surprise, I decided to enter that model into the golden demon competition at Warhammer fest. It won't win anything but I figured it's that extra little "cool factor" that I would have cared about as a 12 year old haha
