Although Iโve known of her passing since the day it happened, it has taken me a while to make this announcement because her loss hit me very deeply. I knew Emah Miki for years. She tirelessly labored, prayed, advised, and taught countless women through various ministries and organizations and I was one of them. I will be forever grateful and deeply humbled by her service, particularly through the womenโs ministry initiatives of Prophetic Whirlwind Ministries over the years.
Even after we no longer ministered together day by day, Emah Miki encouraged me to rest in the Fatherโs love. When we saw each other during Sukkot 5784 (2023), she hugged me tightly, expressing how proud she was that I was pausing to rest and learning how to be a Daughter of Yah.
Emah Miki understood what was truly important; her focus was on healing and teaching Yahโs people that they are Sons and Daughters, not just doers.
Before I went on the Word Network, Emah Miki was there to call and pray with me in private. Before I spoke at a large Hebrew conferenceโwhere I had to follow a well-known Hebrew leader who did not appreciate women ministers at all โshe again prayed with me in private. When I took a sabbatical to grieve the many elders I had lost, tend to my faith, and address important changes I have been making for my healing, Emah Miki was there to hug me, urging me to keep going and reminding me that my identity was not in what I do but in who I am as a daughter of The Most High.
I will deeply miss Emah Miki, who is the tenth elder I have lost in the past two years. Before making this announcement I needed time to pause and reflect on the main lesson she sought to teach me: to โbe and not just do in Yah.โ
I learned so much from Emah Miki, and I pray that her memory lives on in sons and daughters of Yah who find healing and know they are loved not for what they do but for whose they are.
As I revisited Emah Mikiโs past teachings from the Embracing Biblical Womanhood Series, I found a clip in which she reminded us:

May Emah Michelle Miki Benton rest in Shalom and Power. You are loved and deeply missed.
Please pray for her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
