Bubbling with energy and eager to understand how everything works, Miru is a quirky little sea otter, like the ones found in the north of Japan. One day Miru forgets to attach himself to the other otters with seaweed like they usually do to stop them from getting separated whilst sleeping. As he sleeps, strong currents separate him from the other otters and take him all the way down the river. When he wakes up, he finds himself in a new world. His new friends, a group of well-meaning yet scatterbrained animals, help him to find his way.
