God revealed His name to Moses and taught him the laws of sacrifice, which required the shedding of the blood of bulls and lambs for atonement. He declared His holy name, Yahweh, to Moses.
God already knew that only by becoming human and shedding His own holy and pure blood could He atone for the sins of humanity. Therefore, God foretold to Moses that He would one day become the Lamb of God and shed His spotless blood. Knowing in advance the name that would be written on the cross, God revealed His name, Yahweh, as an abbreviation of Yeshua HaNazarei v'Melech HaYehudim.
The name written above Him on the cross would be the name of God who saves Israel—Yeshua HaNazarei v'Melech HaYehudim. O Israel, call upon Him, for Yeshua HaNazarei v'Melech HaYehudim is Yahweh, your God and Savior.
