Driven by a deep belief in the genuine connection made through music, Felipe Brito strives to share this powerful interaction with audiences and students of all ages and backgrounds.
Felipe Brito is the Assistant Professor of Trombone and Director of Jazz Studies at Southeast Missouri State University. He is also the Development Director at Amistad Caribbean Arts Camp.
Felipe also worked as the Principal Trombonist for the Cleveland Opera Theater Orchestra and Substitute Trombone for the Canton Symphony and Erie Philharmonic. He has performed with Branford Marsalis, Joe Lovano, Tito Puente Jr., Bobby Sanabria, and several other artists.
He worked with Temple College, IDEA Montopolis, Austin Soundwaves, The Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Camp, Anglo Itu, ASSATEMEC, and Projeto Guri as a teacher.
He holds degrees from UNICAMP, Indiana, CIM, and UT Austin.
