MULTI-AWARD WINNING GARDEN
The Woodlands Botanical Garden (WBG) is a community garden started as a ground-up initiative in July 2020. Spanning more than 2,500 sqm, the 9-storey garden boosts an incredible biodiversity that brings joy to all nature lovers. With more than 200 varieties of ornamental plants, including the delightful Tecoma ‘Sparky’, the garden aims to bring flowers not commonly observed in our parks and green spaces. The vast species of insects seen here also include dragonflies and bees, including the rarely seen blue-banded bees which have alternating blue and black bands on their abdomen instead of the more common yellow and brown/black bands observed with the common honey bees. There are also about 20 species of butterflies that frequent the grounds, with the red-listed common rose (our National butterfly) and birdwing (Singapore’s largest butterfly) amongst them.
