Welcome to ‘Talking About Socialism … from a Marxist point of view’.
We aim to develop a conversation about socialism.
Our vision is for the abolition of capitalism and for the creation of a society in which the resources of the world are owned in common, in which production is planned democratically to meet the needs of all.
Our outlook is rooted in the Marxist tradition, and we aim to promote Marxist ideas, analysis and discussion, and apply our understanding to what is going on in the world today, and seek to change it.
We reject the idea that the former Stalinist states of the USSR and the ‘eastern bloc’ were socialist or communist.
‘Talking About Socialism’ is not part of any of the existing organisations on the left, and was initiated by people who are not aligned to any organisation.
We welcome participation and contributions from anyone who wants to end the present profit system and fight for a new socialist world.
