When life got beyond hard, I asked God, "Why am I here?" He replied, "Show them the height, width, and breadth of My love." Tall order. I needed a metaphor to grasp the assignment. God supplied the ocean... The height is opposite the depth, yet at the height is where most life exists. The width is from shore to shore, touching us as waves caress or pound a beach. The breadth of the ocean covers the whole world. Anywhere we go, God's love is there. Then, He said the ocean is a metaphor for the universe and the universe is a metaphor for what is beyond. So, God's love exceeds our comprehension. All I can do is show whomever is "them" that God's love is real and available. Life is hard, but we are not alone. I hope you will see God's love in my eyes as I speak words describing my experiences in the exploration of this great love. I cannot grasp the magnitude of God's love, but I can share the small portion of what has been revealed to me. ~ Teresa Barrington
