College of Physicians & Surgeons of Mumbai (CPS) is an examining body established in the year 1912 for doctors desirous to have PG medical qualification established by then surgeon general H. W. Stevenson on lones with Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons. CPS is one of the oldest Post Graduate Medical educational institution in India, empowered to confer qualifications (LCPS, MCPS, Diplomas, FCPS) by Indian Medical Degree Act 1916.
CPS promotes specialty based medical practice and arranges Post Graduate Medical Training, Research & Advances in the Medical Profession to strengthen the health care system in rural and peripheral areas by making specialists available there.
Today CPS is recognized and registered in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Odisha, Bihar, Tripura, Meghalaya. CPS is recognized by Govt. of Malaysia at par with other university.
