Okay guys, I've cried myself dry and I'm ready to face what we've got on our hands here. I've had a lot of requests to just keep flying in 2020 until things improve, and I seriously considered it. But the reality is that nothing (or very little) will be added to the old sim from here on out, and we're going to start getting a fire hose of updates and addons pouring into 2024 as they attempt to douse the blazing inferno of the community's outrage.
Since I don't want a single person to throw in the towel, I'm going to scour the planet for ANYTHING that looks good enough to explore in 2024 and not leave you with heartburn. For all the 2020ers, I'll continue to post the flight plans for Little NavMap (which is now functionally working in 2024, btw) so you can keep exploring with us until what we're seeing in the new sim is good enough to lure you over.
Wish me luck, this world ain't gonna save itself without simming!

Welcome to 2024, everyone! Yes, we're all also waiting on the loading screen. If you haven't done it already, now might be a great time to join our Discord server as we all share our knowledge and experiences with getting everything set up and working properly.

Hey friends, I've decided to suspend any new uploads until we can get into 2024 next week. Since I'm not sure how Little NavMap will integrate, or if it will at all, our first few trips will likely be around some of the best-looking spots from 2020 so we can get a solid assessment of what 2024 is bringing to the table on the scenery front. I can't wait to see y'all on the other side!

We finally found some fall north of Helen, Georgia. Then I found some falls in North Carolina. Awesome!

Hey guys, as mentioned during our last flight, I will be gone until Tuesday as I hunt for some fall foliage up in the Smoky Mountains with one of my daughters. I'll post a pic if I find any good autumn scenes.
I recorded a trip up at Churchill along the Hudson Bay tonight, but wasn't thrilled with how it came out, so that'll be on tap when I get back next week. We're also going to try recording a joint helicopter training session with one of our members who flies them in real life, which will be awesome. And, of course, we've got the launch of 2024 next weekend ... so we'll just work with that as it unfolds. See y'all when I get back!

Here are the flights I've selected for our quarterly flight plan recommendation competition, thank you to everyone who submitted a location for us to check out. ALL of them were amazing. We'll keep the polls open for a couple of weeks so I can make some announcements to let everyone know. The links to the flights are below.

Our group flight over some stunning Colorado mountainscapes will be tomorrow night (Thrusday the 10th) at 9PM EST. We'll be enjoying a plan mapped out by a member who lives in the area. No group flight or piloting expertise is required, all our trips are for the sake of good sights, good conversation, and, of course, total awesomeness.
The only requirement is a plane that can cruise at a minimum of 230kts, climb like crazy, and can get up to at least 16,000 feet. To join, hop on our Discord server (link below) and click on the "group-flight" voice channel at the lower left to get in the live chat. I'll be there by 8:45 for anyone who needs help getting set up in the sim.

I'm not dead (yet) gang! I had to travel last weekend, some storm-prep here in Jacksonville this week, and some day-job related tasks for the end of the quarter. Hopefully, tomorrow night I'll get a good recording of our next tour, a hometown flyover request from Leeds to Blackpool, UK.

If anyone is interested in a white knuckler through Helene, I'll set up a hurricane hunting group flight for 9PM EST tonight. If you would like to join us, hop on our Discord server as soon as possible and drop me a line in the group-flight section so I can get a head count. I'll be monitoring the track and post a rough flight plan by 8:45 PM, also in the group-flight section. We'll be taking jets since we'll most certianly need to climb in excess of FL300.
