My name is Maryam, I'm Memon, and I'm here to teach you and your children Memoni.
Memoni language originates from Pakistan and the western portion of India. Although the majority of Memons today live in Karachi, Pakistan, many around the world speak it. There are different dialects for Memoni as well! The cool thing about Memoni is that it is not a written language, only oral. And there, you see the problem. As more and more parents forget or lose their Memon language, fewer children will know how to speak it.
I am grateful to my mom for teaching me how to speak Memoni fluently and for encouraging us to be proud of our heritage. I dedicate this channel to my dad, a lover of learning.
