Seasearch is a project for recreational divers and snorkellers who want to do their bit for the marine environment by collecting information about marine habitats, plants and animals that only they see under the water.
For over 30 years, Seasearch divers have collected information which has helps those involved in all aspects of marine conservation identify what’s special about different areas and what’s going on below the surface that may be affecting habitats and wildlife. These vital records help experts make informed decisions about marine protection and other regulatory measures.
Any one who dives or snorkels in Britain and Ireland can get involved. All you need is an enthusiasm for the marine environment and want to learn more.
