Bruns is a drummer, producer, bandleader and music traveler based out of Los Angeles. His production specialty is live tracking and audio mixing, including most recently at Sunset Sound for the soundtrack of BALLROOM. His drumming and field-research focus on Afro-based folkloric genres from South America, Central America and the Caribbean, as well as the motherland -- Africa. Bruns is also the founder (est. 2005) and director of the World Music and Recording Arts & Production (RAP) programs at Campbell Hall (a private k-12 school in Studio City, CA). There he has infused his knowledge, experience, transcriptions, and instruments from his field-research directly to the students. His 9 piece retro-soul band -- BRUNS & BACHÉ -- toured Japan twice, had two top-10 charting albums air on 300+ terrestrial radio stations in the USA. His band has been the featured headliner at "Jazz at LACMA" (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) twice, including a broadcast and interview on KKJZ 88.1FM.
